Nike Skin

Analyzed Nike's visual identity and brand perceptions, conducted user research on skincare routines, and used both to design a speculative performance-driven skincare product line.


The concepts in this project are entirely hypothetical and are neither implemented by nor affiliated with Nike.

What do the users need?

What do the users need?

To understand the user group, 60 survey responses were gathered from gyms, athletes, and skincare and fitness enthusiasts.

To understand Nike, interviewed Nike Inc.'s Jae Hyun Lyu, senior designer @ Nike.

Based on interviews, content research, and survey results, I synthesized user personas to represent the targeted audience of Nike Skin.


The Concept

Simplicity and Portability.

A labeled simple multi-step routine. Packaging utilizes numbered system with distinct colors. Products ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 are for daily morning and night use, while 2.0 to 3.0 offer skincare and outdoor protection, to be washed off at day's end.

Why this system?

01 Clarity

Simplifies skincare for athletes with numbered, color-coded packaging, reducing confusion about product usage and removal.


02 Efficiency

Streamlines skincare regimen by categorizing products by purpose and usage time, saving athletes time and effort.


03 Expandable Design

Decimal-based system allows for easy integration of new skincare or makeup products, providing athletes with options without complicating the packaging.
